Rachel Valentine M.A., M.Ed., CCSP, T-LMHC, NCC

Rachel earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University in 2024. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s in Sport and Recreation Management from The University of Iowa. Currently, she’s working on her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Iowa.

Rachel takes a holistic approach to counseling, which means she focuses on all aspects of your well-being, including mental, emotional, and physical health, and helps you find purpose and fulfillment. She specializes in college student wellness, career counseling, neurodiversity, identity development, sports counseling, and mindfulness. With a background as a Division I athlete, she has a special passion for sports counseling.

Rachel offers therapy to adults, helping with challenges like academic struggles, career goals, anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity issues. She has worked with people dealing with conditions like ADHD, BPD, and more.

She uses a variety of counseling methods that focus on strengths and positive change, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These tools help clients reframe negative thoughts, manage emotions, and build healthier habits.

Rachel’s approach is all about creating a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself without judgment. She believes in personal and professional growth and change and wants to help you develop the skills you need to live your best life.
