Albee graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa in 2019 and is currently a temporarily Licensed Mental Health Counselor (tLMHC) in Iowa.

Albee acknowledges that making the decision to reach out to a counselor for the first time is a challenging step to take. She provides a safe environment for her clients to explore their reasoning for seeking mental health counseling services by actively listening to their concerns and needs in order to assist them in the process of sorting through various life challenges. She enjoy's learning about each individual's story and encourage her clients to use their strengths as a tool for overcoming challenges in life.

 

Albee's counseling areas of focus include crisis intervention, depression, anxiety, anger/stress management, relationship concerns and life transitions. Her therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused, person-centered therapy and mindfulness-based therapy. Additionally, Albee is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and provides bilingual services upon request.

 

Albee tailors her sessions around the unique needs of her clients by using a holistic approach which is strongly based on empathy and compassion. Her goal as the counselor is to help her clients strengthen their resiliency in order to successfully cope through difficulties, while also finding hope and meaning in life. Albee believes that it takes a courageous individual to pursue counseling services and that no concern is too big or too small to seek support.
